Tell Congress: Support smart recovery efforts for Nepal

Date: Mar 03, 2016

Millions of families and children in Nepal have been struggling to rebuild their lives since the catastrophic 7.8 magnitude earthquake on April 25, 2015. While Nepal is no longer in international headlines, Nepalese families are still struggling to get back on their feet. These families need sustained and strategic support to ensure they can build back their lives and homes and be more resilient against future disasters.

Senators Ben Cardin (MD) and Mark Kirk (IL) have introduced a bill, the Nepal Recovery Act (S 1822), that is an important first step on the road to recovery for Nepal. It lays out a thoughtful US government policy towards Nepal, and empowers Nepalese with the tools to rebuild their lives, to support youth and to prepare for future emergencies.
